What’s Included in a Home Inspection

Stewart Home Inspection’s primary goal is to educate you on the condition of the property in question. We want to provide you with comprehensive and reliable information so that you can make the most informed decision possible.

Our licensed home inspectors evaluate all interior and exterior components and systems including those outlined in the Tennessee Standards of Practice 0780-5-12-10. We will evaluate all accessible areas including the roof, attic, basement, crawlspace, structure, foundation, gutters, grading/drainage, thermostats, heating, cooling, ventilation (HVAC), insulation, plumbing fixtures, faucets and water heater; appliances, walls, ceilings and floors; electrical panels, light switches, all GFCI outlets, fireplaces, fire safety hazards, doors, stairs, steps, and railings; porches and balconies, walkways and driveways and the garage.

In addition to inspecting Single Family Homes, we also conduct the following:

  • 11th Month Warranty Inspections
  • Commercial Inspections
  • Investor Property Inspections
  • Multi Family Unit Inspections
  • New Construction Inspections
  • Pre List Inspections

Thermal Imaging - A thermographic scan is included in all of our home inspections. Our inspectors are trained and certified to use Thermal Imaging technology to diagnosis possible problems (i.e. air leaks, moisture intrusion) and causes that may otherwise go undetected. Areas scanned will be based upon observations and/or requests made during the home inspection and may include electrical panels, roofs, walls and windows. Stewart Home Inspection does not use this technology to scan the entire home nor does it conduct energy audits. As with all aspects of a home inspection, the conditions of the home at the time of inspection may influence findings and cannot predict future conditions.
